MY LAMARIE BEAUTE’ STORY
Talk about a change in directions. My ultimate dream was to become a nurse until I received a call from my cousin, a 10 year Cosmetologist and Salon Owner to assist with shampooing. I could not have imagined the journey that I was about to embark on. I loved the interaction with the clients and the hair transformations wowed me. I was quickly conflicted on my decision to go to nursing school or Cosmetology school. This temporary request turned into a two-year learning experience that prepared me for cosmetology school. I immediately attended cosmetology school after my high school years. The fact of knowing that this career path would personally allow me to transform lives blew me away. Though this new path intrigued me and I knew it was what I was supposed to do my plans still included nursing school at some point.
Immediately after graduation from Cosmetology School I returned to my cousins salon to work. I started on back to school weekend, one of the busiest weekends for hair salons. As my clientele grew, my skills also became more defined and relationships began to form. A long-standing client told me on multiple occasions that this was my ministry. I never understood what she meant until just recently. It has now become crystal clear on what my purpose is and go figure that client was a nurse.
Fast forward 26 years later, my desire to help and bring comfort from a medical perspective go hand and hand with providing healing, happiness and joy from a beauty perspective. From transforming unhealthy hair to healthy hair to teaching my Fab in 15 make up technique. Being in the salon with other women will lift spirits, conversations bring hope, prayer brings healing and laughter brings relief.
I have found that my purpose provides positive results for others and brings me joy in addition to helping me get through my own personal battles. Get ready for the Lamarie Beaute’s Experience.
